Yawning…

There is just something so adorable about a newborn’s yawn.  I just had to share!  Isn’t he adorable?

He was born weighing 4.85kg (almost 11 pounds!).  So calm and relaxed though.  It was wonderful spending some time with him and his family, sharing in these special first days.

*a few more hours until the operation.  Will keep everyone updated as soon as we get home again.

Parenting teenage girls

I got a special opportunity to have a session with a family with three gorgeous girls.  I must say it is quite a different experience photographing teenagers!

Mom and dad are raising three wonderful girls though.

We started with the girls all getting ready, the youngest showing she has better make-up skills than me…

The older two are close to finishing high school  They are fabulous and full of fun.  We all spent most of the session just laughing.

I will be updating the Facebook page with some more of their images.

**My daughter’s operation is scheduled for Wednesday.  She picked up a bit of the sniffles, so we will find out tomorrow if all will go forward as scheduled.

Winter’s mist

Often in the mornings we have a beautiful soft mist settling over the streets.  It takes half the day to disappear.  I took a walk with my daughter to enjoy it.  Everything was coated with little drops of water

Around the farmlands, the barbed wire was wrapped up in spider silk, decorated with pearls of water.

And naturally lots of spider webs scattered with dew drops…

(Note my washing isn’t getting dry!  My improvised dryer is now a clothes horse and fan indoors… at least I don’t have to run to save the washing in case of rain!)

Ain’t she sweet

Finally got my new hard drives, so I have space again and can get back to editing.  Nearly done with Danni’s engagement session.  Isn’t she gorgeous?  Look at those smoking eyes!

My youngest is going in for her operation next week Wednesday.  Also got reminded last night I have four weeks to finalise my portfolio for class and get it printed, so the pressure is on!  So excuse me if I disappear for days at a time.

Celebrating Mom- iHeartFaces

This week’s challenge is in honour of Mother’s Day.  I got the opportunity to photograph this wonderful mother and daughter recently.  There is such a great connection between the two of them.

Check out the other entries this week by clicking on the logo above!

Portrait of a city

A portrait is defined as a likeness, which is easy when photographing a person.  It is their face, right?  Now try to define the likeness of a city…  That is our challenge for class.  I sure had a great time trying to capture aspects of this wonderful city. I spent an evening with a class mate walking some of the streets, seeing a different side of Melbourne.

All these images were taken between Spring St and Swanston St.

Romantic Sunsets

Danni and William are a couple so in love, it was wonderful to see. And what better time to capture them together than at sunset?

I will be sharing more of their engagement session on Facebook

Baby

I am so behind on my processing with everything that has been happening over the last few weeks.  So I stuck into it and stared on one side and am working my way to the other.  I am nearly done with these maternity images.  I love how she just glows!

And little miss is just too cute for words.  Don't they just look great together?

Mornington Peninsula

Sunday I got the opportunity to do two different shoots at the same time in Mornington.  (I will post some images later.)  Thought to share the beauty of the location.  It was my first time in Mornington and it is absolutely gorgeous there!  The small cove was filled with yachts, fishing boats and dinghies.  I couldn’t believe how beautiful the light was.  It was just a perfect evening.

By sunset most of the clouds to the west were gone, the water with barely a ripple.

Even after dark, the jetty was filled with people fishing.  The nights really have a life of their own.
