Seattle buildings

We haven’t been to the city much so far (except for hubby who goes to work each day!).  Some beautiful buildings.  Looking forward to seeing more.  Seattle is very different to Melbourne.

Everything is very clean in the areas we went to.  There are small shops in some of the alleyways.  Lots of traffic police as soon as any kind of event is on.  Lots of development happening too.  People move fast in this city.

These massive baskets of flowers hang everywhere.  They went up in spring.  The colours are great to see, decorating so many buildings and businesses in the city and the suburbs.  People like colour here, I love that!

Melbourne’s Architecture

There is a really rich mix of architecture styles in the city.  From the old churches to the library to the alleyways.

The old wall above  is of a warehouse.  The inside of the warehouses down this narrow little street seem to all have been converted to flats.  It is really narrow.  A 4x4 was a tight fit.  She couldn’t turn the corner when I was standing right near the wall to take the photo.  I had to move.

Christmas decorations are also already up in the city.  This was taken from Flinders Street Station.

I am hoping we can go see the Myer windows soon, but with packing and all the Christmas events, somehow we keep running out of time.

I better get back to packing.  I have my daughter singing nursery rhymes in the background.  Simple pleasures…

A little more of Berwick

The farmlands are full of interesting things for a city girl to see.  It is a little hard to get close though, since there is a lot of barbed wire around.

Thank goodness lots of flowers were growing along the side of the road, making it easier to get some shots.

Everywhere signs that these are hardworking farms.

Nice to know we can live in the city, but still have this nearby.
