Puffing Billy Train Trip

We went for a ride on the Puffing Billy steam train yesterday. The kids had an amazing amount of fun. It was a lot chillier than expected, but the weather held off until we got on the train back home. We had a little picnic at Emerald Lake Park. Everything was amazingly lush, green and wet. (I nearly took a slide down a muddy embankment because I was in a hurry and didn't follow the footpath.) The kids climbed the trees, looked at the ducks and made a wish in the wishing well. All in all quite a successful day.

We got home a little late and with one child sick with a cold, so we never made it to the store to pick up my birthday present. Seems the new camera will have to wait a few more days.

Buying a new camera

Had driving lessons this morning, since we have to redo our drivers exam (new country, new license). Rushed to the shops for fabric for a shark costume, then ran to school to fetch the kids. The neighbour's cat obliged by sitting really still for a photo. Then we went to the shops to look at cameras. First store was sold out, but we found it. Came home just to double check prices. Hopefully by tomorrow I will have a more professional camera, though my Fuji Finepix S5700 has worked very hard for me the last two years.

My first competition entry

So I took a chance and entered the Canon World of EOS competition. The topic for the next link is bird's eye. I had these two to choose between. For better or worse I chose to enter the teddy bear one.

Didn't get much of a chance to shoot anything today. It kept drizzling.

Age-old question

Spent most of the morning in a camera store trying to make the extremely important decision: Canon vs Nikon As important as choosing between a pc and an Apple Mac ;) Took these two pictures this morning. My daughter playing on a slide and the rose from a garden on our route to school

Where is Pooh?

On the way to school this morning, Pooh slipped out of the pram and went on an adventure. We first came home for breakfast, then went to retrace our route to try and find him. A kind Samaritan had placed him with a good view of the main road. So there he was, waiting patiently for us

Morning and night

We took a short trip to the local wildlife park last night. The rose photo was taken on the walk to school this morning.
